7 Tributes to God ~

King David used 7 Tributes to describe and laud God ~
Psalms 18

~ MY STRENGTH. The psalmist knew his strength lay-in God. Without God he would have succumbed; with Him he was victorious.

~ MY ROCK. My cliff. When the storm beat the hardest, he found God a rock, a solid rock, a cliff of shelter.

~MY FORTRESS. A place of defense and protection. There is no safety like Fort Divine.

The original word is translated shield, a shield buckled to the arm. Life is a warfare, and to win we need God on our arm when we raise it in defense.

~THE HORN OF MY SALVATION. Jehovah was to the writer what a horn is to an animal, the means of defense.

~ MY HIGH TOWER. Or refuge, that being the translation of the word in Psalm 9:9. Truly, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous man runneth into it, and is safe” Prov. 18:10
